NU-Q’s ethos - Create. Inform. Connect. - encourages students to train and excel in every communication discipline.NU-Q welcomed its first students to Qatar Foundation in 2008. Able to draw faculty and core curriculum from one of most acclaimed journalism and communications schools in the world, NU-Q offers undergraduate courses in both disciplines.
Medill School of Journalism at NU-Q
Medill School of Journalism courses emphasize learning through practical experience in newsrooms and real scenarios, as well as through exposure to a liberal arts education.Medill graduates in the USA are highly valued by news organizations because of their training in print, radio, television and digital communications. The Medill program teaches students to think critically, research and write reports and stories and communicate with a target audience. NU-Q journalism students undertake internships with Al Jazeera and other Qatar media outlets.
Scripts, films and online communications
Courses at the School of Communication include hands-on experience in media research and creative media arts. Students write film scripts, make movies, study the history of film and analyze the use of online communities in professional and social contexts. NU-Q students have successfully completed internships with the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and the Al Jazeera Children’s Channel.
