The Capital Projects & Facilities Division oversees the planning, design and construction of all of Qatar Foundation's buildings and their supporting infrastructure, and ensures that they are maintained to the highest standards during their operational lifetime.
The physical campus of Education City is the Division's main project. The campus spreads over 2,500-hectares on the western edge of Doha and is made up of open spaces and numerous iconic buildings designed by signature architects such as Arata Isozaki, Legorreta + Legorreta, Cesar Pelli, OMA and Rafael Vinoly. The Master Plan was designed by Arata Isozaki.
The Division is also responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of Qatar Foundation's facilities elsewhere in Qatar, including the new Education City 2 complexes located near Al Khor, about 40 kilometers north of Doha.
The built environment in which Qatar Foundation operates is complex and state of the art. Capital Projects & Facilities cooperates with multiple partners to ensure that the finished product meets the intended specifications. End users are involved at all stages, from conceptual planning to the building commission and during its operational lifetime.
