RAND-Qatar Policy Institute
What is RAND-Qatar Policy?
“RQPI’s mission is to help improve policy and decisionmaking through research and analysis. Whether our work is about economic challenges, education, safety, or health, it is work that seeks to have a lasting positive effect for Qatar. Moreover, we are training a cadre of talented Qataris, so that they may carry on this work by using rigorous, fact-based analysis to take on the tough issues for Qatar and generate effective, innovative solutions for its people.”

Research and analysis for public policy issues
QF’s collaboration with RAND through RQPI seeks to develop innovative solutions through the application of rigorous methodologies and international best practices in research. The aim is to engage with critical public policy issues that are relevant to Qatar and the region as a whole. Areas of research include:
- Education
- Health and Health Care
- Private Sector Development
- Labor and Population
- Science and Technology
- Energy
- Environment
- Defense and Security
- Transportation
- Art and Culture
RQPI works closely with decision-makers in Qatar, carrying recommendations through to implementation.
Results for Middle East, North Africa and South Asia
RQPI realizes that solutions that work elsewhere might not work for clients in Qatar and the region. RQPI strives make its work relevant, accessible and implementable by leaders across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. RQPI has recently opened an office in Abu Dhabi and expanded its reach of work to Iraq.
RQPI is committed to working closely with our clients to forge a solid knowledge base, build capacity in research and analysis and prepare policy-makers to address future challenges. Our projects’ teams are carefully built to incorporate the wisdom of RAND and QF senior analysts and subject matter experts with junior Qatari researchers who can offer fresh ideas and local context.
